Saunder's Family Reunion

This year we were in charge of the reunion as we honored grandpa. It was over Labor Day weekend. The theme was survivor. It was a good time, but a lot of work! The kids loved it though...here they are playing in the RV
The nights and early mornings were SO COLD!!! We ended up all sleeping together sometime during every night. I know we are a little scary...but the kids are cute.
Still trying to warm up!!!
Monday we had games, that we planned. I know Aubrey had fun playing her games, so I think we did a good job.
The classic dig candy out of the sawdust...I played this when I was a kid, oh memories.

Our summer fun!

First of all...check out this picture. Twiners! Everyone always says how much Casen looks like his daddy...so I had to take this picture the day they dressed the same. So funny!

Our summer was lots of fun...so here it is in a nut shell. Our 4th of July, and 24th of July were nice. We had fun with friends and family. Aubrey can't get enough fireworks...especially the poppers (the ones you throw on the ground). We also went to the Ogden parade, which is where we are here...

Aubrey got to ride in the South Weber parade with her dance group. She liked it, and we all liked it too!! (lots of candy) She is hard to find, but she is the one sitting on the end of the bench on the right side of the picture.

We went to the Davis County Fair and Aubrey's aunt paid for her to go in and pet the baby tiger. It was so cute! Aubrey was scared at first, but she warmed up after a minute. She also rode a pony...she loves that!

Our Little Dancing Queen

Aubrey just started dancing this spring, and has LOVED it! She looked so cute for her recital...though mom will never get use to seeing her 3 year old with make-up on. Of course she loved every second of it and wanted to wear make-up the next day too.

She did a great job and brought tears to my eyes. Well of course she is three so there was the picking her nose part, and the time when she was the only one standing on the stage because the rest of her class was on their bellies. I got it all recorded so we can look at it in years to come and laugh.
She is the one on the back row, third from the right.

She had so many people come and support her. She got flowers from her Grandma and Grandpa Byers and the Smiths. Brylee danced through the whole thing and wants to dance like Aubrey too.

Fun at the Aquarium

For our Fuzzy's birthday we went to the Living Planet Aquarium, mostly to see the penguins. Fuzzy loves penguins!

The penguins were so cute. You could see them really well. Parker and Aubrey are watching the penguins here. Amazingly I caught a couple of the penguins swimming by.

Casen liked the Aquarium too. He is so sweet!

Parker and Aubrey are trying to find the Nemo and Dori fish. I thought it was a neat picture.

We had a great time at the Aquarium! Happy Birthday Fuzzy! Thanks for inviting us.

Time Does Fly...

It has been a few months since I last posted. It has gone by so fast! My sweet baby is already 4 months old! He is such a sweet, smiley baby. We love him so much!

Our March was fun filled. On St. Patrick's Day a leprechaun visited or house leaving a trail of coins that Aubrey followed to a present he left for her. Then we spent the day at the zoo. It was a beautiful day, and we had so much fun!

The end of March was our Uncle Fuzzies wedding. The kids looked so cute all dresses up. The weather was a little crazy, but other than that it was a nice day. I can't believe my little brother is married!

Easter is one of my favorites. Aubrey loves all the egg hunts and dying eggs. The Easter bunny did not disappoint, both kids got a basket full of goodies. Aubrey also got a scooter that she loves to ride. She keeps calling it a bike though.

We blessed Casen the week after Easter. It was a nice day. I think all my family was there to support him. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family that is so close to us.

Well there is a very quick update...I will try to be better at updating as the time flies by us so quickly.

First smiles

Casen is just starting to smile at mommy. I tried to get them on camera, but is was difficult. Here are a few of the first smiles I caught on camera.

Here is the biggest smile I got.

Just missed it, but you can see a hint of it still.

Casen is so big!

Our boy is getting so big! He is 6 weeks old now. He holds his head up really well. He is also starting to sleep better at night. He loves to eat! He still wants to eat every 2 hours...but he will usually go 3 hours at night. He likes to be held, and is usually happy and content if he is being held. He gets really bad gas, like his daddy :) That is usually when he cries, if he has gas, is hungry, or tired. He is a sweet boy and we love him!

I will sometimes lay him on his belly because it helps the gas. He likes his pacifier also!

Such a handsome boy! Everyone keeps saying how much he looks like Dave. I still think he looks like Aubrey did.

Aubrey LOVES her brother!

Because of the new rules at hospitals, Aubrey could not come to see her new brother until we came home. She had been staying with Grandma Janna. She couldn't get up the stairs fast enough and was all smiles.

She loves him as much today after two weeks as she did that first day. She has been a great big sister and helps her mommy and daddy with everything we will let her do. She mimics everything I do with her own babies, even breast feeding :)

She would hold her brother all day if we would let her. She covers him with kisses and hugs all day long. She doesn't like when he is asleep because we don't let her touch him. I asked her what she loves most about her brother, and she said, "He is sweeeet!"

Casen David Byers

We want all of you to meet Casen! We are so happy he is here. I had a scheduled C-section for January 9, 2010, but Casen had his own plans. At 1:00 am on December 28, 2009 I was laying in bed when my water broke. I was not prepared to have the baby yet, so you can say we were a little disorganized. We were trying to throw a bag together for us, the new baby, and Aubrey all at one in the morning. We forgot a lot of things, but we were able to get them later. We quickly dropped Aubrey off at my mom's, and we were off to the hospital. We were told that we would be going in for a C-section around 9:00am, so the waiting began. They told us to get some sleep while we waited, but really who would be able to sleep! We actually got pushed back on other time, so we headed to the operating room around 11:00am. It worked out well though because my sister Michelle was able to get off work and make it to the hospital before he was born. Casen was born on December 28, 2009 at 11:54 am. He was 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 19 inches long.

Some people say he looks like his daddy, and most people say he looks like his sister. I see both features in him. Some times I look at him and think he is Aubrey as a baby.

He has been a good baby! The only complaint I have is that he has his nights and days turned around. Many nights he doesn't go to sleep until 2:00-3:00am. It makes for a long night, but since Dave is out of work he has been wonderful at being up with him. We love our sweet angel and are so happy to have him in our family!
